A Chocoholics Dream!

If you love chocolate, then these cakes are perfect for you!

I decided to bake these Rocky Road themed cupcakes after wanting to bake something which involved lots (and lots) of chocolate!

Initially I thought I’d bake a chocolate cupcake but then I decided to make it more exciting! I based the design of these cupcakes on a rocky road bar and used elements of the bar in the decoration of the cakes. The inside of these cupcakes are filled with Nutella to add to the surprise when you bite into them. For some, this cupcake would be their idea of heaven and others probably their idea of hell, seeing these cakes as a chocolate overload! (but you can never have too much chocolate, can you!?)

The chocolate sponge is filled with chocolate chunks and the centre has been cut out and filled with Nutella. The cakes are covered in a light, fluffy chocolate butter icing and decorated with mini marshmallows, digestive biscuits and a drizzle of dark chocolate. I’m not sure I could have used any more chocolate in these cakes if I tried!

Baking these cakes was a lot of fun and trying not to eat the bag of mini marshmallows as I decorated them was a challenge in itself!
