Time for cake!

When revision has become the daily norm at the moment, I wish I could be back in the kitchen baking! I can’t wait to be exam free and spend my days baking and enjoying the freedom!

For my sisters 22nd birthday I made her a salted caramel birthday cake. As her birthday was during lent and I couldn’t eat chocolate I wanted to bake something which I could eat as well! Selfish I know, but then again I couldn’t turn away birthday cake!

I made this cake using three 7 inch cake tins and sandwiched the sponge layers together with vanilla butter icing and salted caramel sauce. I decorated the cake with butter icing and a caramel drip effect. I also made a white chocolate and caramel crisp 22 heart topper to finish off the cake.

Although not being chocolate which is what my sister requested, this cake still went down a treat! x
